HISTORY

ELM through the years.

ELM in 1926
1926

THE BEGINNING...

According to the Gouda & Omstreken Chamber of Commerce, a business has been established at the current location of ELM Bleiswijk BV since 15 December 1926. It concerns a blacksmith business and trade in agricultural machinery.

THE CONSTRUCTION YEARS

Here, brothers Gerrit and Arie look with some pride at the result of their work. This is a plough adapted for use behind a tractor.

1948

AN IMPORTANT MILESTONE

An important milestone: from 1 November 1948, the agency was acquired for McCormick- Deering. The map shows the boundaries of the then rayon.

THE 50S

This photo shows the company buildings and residence in the year 1950. The black-painted building in the foreground included the forge and parts warehouse.

1963

GROWTH CONTINUES

The company can now be captured in a single image. Furthermore, this photo marks a new era in forage harvesting: the pick-up wagon, in this case a Krone Lademeister.

1965

A BIG STEP FORWARD!

On a chilly autumn day in 1965, the time had come: Gebr. de Regt drove the first pile for modern business premises, the contours of those days still clearly visible today

1968

END OF THE 1960S

Every year, a truckload of drum tedders are delivered, all of which find their way to cattle farmers during the spring.

1980

THE START WITH EXCAVATORS

This photo was taken from the heart of the site in the direction of the bridge: on the right is the alcove hut, which was almost always used for storage.

1990

INTRODUCTION TO JCB

JCB was first introduced in the early 1990s. At the time, the search was on for a successor to the MB Trac.

1998

CHANGES AT ELM

In 1998, Klaas Hordijk stepped down from the management, which until then had consisted of Wouter v.d. Vendel and Cees de Regt. From then on, Wouter v.d. Vendel and Cees de Regt form the management.

2005

SANDER DE REGT STARTS AT ELM

After the death of Cees de Regt, Sander de Regt and Wouter v.d. Vendel form the management of ELM Bleiswijk B.V. In this photo, Sander hands over the keys of his first sold excavator to the driver of Loonbedrijf F. Kleyweg.

2012

THE BEGINNING WITH DOOSAN

In 2012, the first Doosan is sold to Van der Spek loon- en grondwerk B.V. (Bergschenhoek)

2018

AN IMPORTANT MILESTONE

From 1 November 2018, the earthmoving activities are continued at Transportweg 10. At this location, ELM Bouwmachines B.V. will also continue the activities of H.J. van Vliet B.V. (ETEC).

2020

ELM IS READY FOR THE FUTURE!

The move will be followed by extensive remodelling of the premises and outside area. After more than 1 year of hard work, earthmoving days are organised so that all interested parties can see how the company has been transformed and it is ready for the future!

2021

INNOVATIVE BY INITIATIVE

The move and refurbishment of the premises are behind us, but sitting still is not an option. Partly due to strict environmental requirements, the idea of developing 100% electric excavators arises. The name ''ETEC'' suits the electric excavators perfectly and is at the same time a reference to ETEC's past of developing special machines.
