Develon has expanded its 9-series crawler excavator range with the introduction of two new larger models, the DX360LC-9 (37 tonnes) and DX400HD-9 (42 tonnes).
These complement a unique and innovative platform based on fully electronic hydraulics (FEH) and integrated artificial intelligence. The new models join the 23-tonne DX230LC-9 and 26-tonne DX260LC-9, which were first unveiled at Bauma 2025 and launched across Europe last year.
The DX360LC-9 is powered by the Develon DX08V engine, which delivers 227 kW (304 hp) at 1800 rpm (SAE J1995) and a maximum torque of 1230 kgf·m at 1300 rpm. The machine has a maximum digging depth (standard boom) of 7.5 metres and a maximum digging reach of 11 metres.
The same Develon DX08V engine – a new development replacing the previous Scania engine – also forms the heart of the DX400HD-9. This delivers 254 kW (341 hp) at 1800 rpm (SAE J1995) and a maximum torque of 1460 kgf·m at 1300 rpm. This model also has a maximum digging depth of 7.5 m and a reach of 11 m.
Groundbreaking new design
Develon’s 9-series excavators represent a fundamental shift in the way operators work with heavy machinery. By moving from hydraulic pilot controls to an advanced FEH system, Develon is introducing a range of smart features that enhance safety and precision on the job site and lower the barrier to entry for new operators.
Like all 9-series machines, the DX360LC-9 and DX400HD-9 combine ten groundbreaking technologies, setting new standards in productivity, safety, ease of operation and sustainability.
“This is much more than just adding a new generation of excavators – it’s about setting a new standard for the entire sector,” says Stephane Dieu, Product Manager for Develon excavators in Europe. “With our 9-series machines, the excavator is no longer just a tool, but an intelligent partner.”
Intelligence behind the power
Develon 9-series excavators feature several industry-leading innovations:
A new era in earthmoving
With the 9 Series, Develon takes productivity to the next level. The new crawler excavators combine smart technology with performance and versatility, resulting in fuel savings of up to 10% and up to 7% more engine power.
According to Stephane Dieu, features such as the camera system, Advanced Lift Assist, smartphone start-up and a factory-integrated 2D system ensure greater safety and efficiency.
Increased productivity for operators
The 9 Series offers greater lifting capacity, thereby boosting productivity throughout the working day.
The newly designed joystick offers extensive customisation for optimum comfort and control.
In addition, the PHM (Prognostics & Health Management) system continuously monitors critical components such as hydraulic oil, engine oil and pumps. This helps to predict maintenance needs, minimise downtime and reduce costs.
